ALBINS 915 GEARS AND RING AND PINIONS
Stock gear ratios are designed for drivability and
fuel economy and not necessarily for best performance.
Whether you have a stock motor or one that has been
tuned your transmissions gear ratios may not be optimum for your driving
needs. Optimizing your gears to match
your engine’s power curves can make a huge difference on the track, often
resulting in reduced lap times, and can give the sensation that there has
been a gain in power. Alternative gear
ratios can make the car more fun to drive or be more drivable.
We carry a wide selection of OEM Porsche gears and
Albins gears to suit a variety of applications. Most
racing ratios are only available in Albins new condition.

ALBINS 915 SYNCHRO TEETH
Sometimes termed as dog ring or synchro
hub, these are the teeth that the shift sleeve/slider engages into. If you have a bad synchronizer and if you have
been grinding going into gear-you probably need to replace this part.
These are a direct replacement for both OEM and
Albins gears.

CMS EARLY 915 THROW OUT BEARING GUIDE TUBE UPDATE
This update will allow for use of the late style 915
main shaft seal and o-ring on early transmissions (72-75) where the seal
installs from the inside and the guide tube is not removable. The update is also good repair for those
whom have loose, damaged or worn out guide tubes.
The original is machined off and a custom steel tube
is fitted. It’s further retained from the inside of the diff case with a high
quality snap ring and sealed with the factory o-ring.
We perform this modification in house and you can
send us just the bell housing or the entire transmission.
If you send us just the bell housing, we charge $295
to install the upgraded guide tube. We’ll even clean and inspect the housing’s
bearing bores for you at no additional charge.

CMS 915 BEARING BORE REPAIR
It’s not uncommon for your 915 transmission case to
have spun bearing races and misaligned bores.
This issue was most predominant in the 78-83 differential housings
pinion bearing bore. With the age and
mileage of today’s 915 original cases, some may need more than one bore
repaired.
Typically “staking” or “loctiting”
the spun race won’t fix the problem.
We can reliably and cost efficiently repair your
915’s bell housing or center section’s main shaft or pinion shaft bearing
bores with our custom made sleeves.
We machine the original bore(s) to restore
concentricity as needed then press fit the new bushing(s) into place. With this repair you may continue to use
the original style cylindrical roller bearings.
